Norm Vincel Named General Manager for Select Sire Power, Inc.

ROCKY MOUNT, Va., July 20, 2010 - William Norman Vincel has been chosen by the board of directors as General Manager for Select Sire Power, Inc., a cooperative member of Select Sires, Inc. Select Sire Power markets bovine semen and reproductive products in fifteen states along the east coast of the U.S., employing approximately 130 sales and services professionals.

Norm Vincel Named General Manager for Select Sire Power, Inc. Vincel, a native of Newport, Va., grew up on a beef farm and received his Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Virginia Tech in 1973. Vincel joined VA/NC Select Sires Inc. (now Select Sire Power, Inc.) as beef coordinator in 1974. He occupied that position for 17 years, during which time beef semen sales grew nearly 20 percent annually. He was promoted to Director of Marketing and Development in 1991, responsible for sales and service for both dairy and beef. Vincel continues to maintain that position today, boasting a 135 percent increase in semen unit sales during that period.

Recognized throughout the Select Sires federation and the A.I. industry, Norm is a most valuable resource person in genetics and reproduction. He has served in many industry capacities including chairman of the National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) Beef Development Committee, director of the National Beef Improvement Federation, advisor to Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association (BCIA) and member of the Virginia Tech Animal Science Advisory Board.

Vincel will continue to reside in Salem, Va., with his wife, Elizabeth, and three daughters, Whitney, Amy and Emily. He utilizes his varied talents through extensive work with his church and schools, civic activities, and his gospel and "do-wop" singing group. He continues to operate the family farm in Newport.

Vincel will assume his duties effective January 1, 2011, and succeeds Wayne Dudley, who is leaving after 17 years of excellent leadership to Select Sire Power and the A.I. industry.
