Prairie State/Select Sires Names Mark Kerndt as Marketing Coordinator
HAMPSHIRE, Ill., November 17, 2010 - Mark Kerndt, Waukon, Iowa, has been named marketing coordinator for Prairie State/Select Sires. In this role, Kerndt will be responsible for coordination of overall sales and marketing efforts, including assisting the general manager with the development of marketing and sales programs along with the recruitment of marketing personnel. He will also oversee advertising, promotion and public relations activities and will work closely with all Prairie State/Select Sires field staff.
Kerndt has a deep background in the dairy industry. Earlier this year, he dispersed his Holstein herd, Premier Genetics, which he owned with a partner. He previously worked as a herdsman at Regancrest Farms and as assistant dairy farm director at Northeast Iowa Community College. Kerndt and his father farmed in a partnership for 17 years under the Kerndtway Holsteins prefix before dispersing in 1999. He currently serves as the president of the Iowa Holstein Association.
