Advanced Training Helps Select Sires' SMS Consultants Create Genetic Business Plans
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, May 27, 2011 - More than 110 professional Select Mating Service™ (SMS™) genetic consultants from Select Sires' member organizations and 14 different countries recently met at the annual SMS Consultant Conference, hosted by COBA/Select Sires Inc. in Lubbock, Texas, May 1-4, 2011. The group discussed the latest developments in the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™), new enhancements to the SMS program and innovative technologies and recent trends. The SMS consultants also viewed progeny of Select Sires' current lineup and potential graduates throughout northwestern Texas and southeastern New Mexico.
"Select Sires' employee orientation and sales training are a great resource to provide both new and existing employees more knowledge and give them the opportunity to share concepts with their colleagues," said Lyle Kruse, vice president of U.S. market development for Select Sires. "At the end of these conferences, our skilled staff departs with the latest information to better serve Select Sires' customer-owners."

The first day of the conference included educational seminars presented by Select Sires' staff.
During the following three days, consultants viewed progeny of a wide range of sires. In some herds attendees viewed up to 50 daughters of individual sires, providing an excellent learning opportunity to see their true breeding patterns.
