Chichester At Select Sires
PLAIN CITY, OHIO, USA

On Saturday, August 7, 1999 the Select Sires Board of Directors chose David Thorbahn to succeed Richard Chichester as the federation's Chief Executive Officer. Thorbahn will take the helm as Select Sires General Manager on January 1, 2000 at which time Chichester retires after 28 years of Select Sires leadership.

Thorbahn (37) brings a new generation of leadership to Select Sires, according to Board President Charles Moellendick, Pleasantville, OH. "David offers a diverse perspective to Select Sires. He started his 15-year career with ABS Global as a district sales manager in 1984. Since then he has been a Regional Sire Analyst, Manager of Dairy Advertising, Manager of Dairy Sire Selection and Divisional Sales Manager," states Moellendick. "While in each management position, Thorbahn successfully implemented sales and genetic programs that enhanced growth while decreasing operational costs."

A 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University, Thorbahn earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, Major in Dairy Science. In May 1999 he received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.

Thorbahn and his wife Nancy are both natives of Ohio. They will relocate to central Ohio with their one-year-old daughter Jenna later this fall.
