ELTON RECEIVES HONOR
The New Select Sires Hall Of Famer

PLAIN CITY, OHIO, USA - Emprise Bell Elton has been selected as the newest member of the Select Sires Hall of Fame. The framed portrait of this Excellent-95 sire is on display with other dairy and beef genetic giants in the Hall of Fame located at the cooperative’s headquarters in Plain City, OH.

Elton entered Select’s lineup in January of 1990 as the #6 TPI bull of the breed. He offered lots of high protein milk from beautiful udders and particularly outstanding feet and legs. As an added bonus, dairy producers got a bull with great conception and calving ease. With the addition of second crop daughters in 1993, Elton’s numbers soared. His TPI rose to an elite level and there was renewed interest in using him as a sire of sons while his daughters were highly sought after for bull contracts.

Select marketed Elton semen for more than five years. Charlie Will, the Select Sire Analyst who acquired this genetic giant remarks, "There are alot of good bulls that come and go in our industry, but it’s the great bulls that get even better over time. Elton daughters are what Productive Life is all about; elite production cows that last a long time and improve with age. His best sons will most certainly be Hall of Famers, too."

Bred by David Jennissen of Sauk Centre, MN, Elton’s reputation as a breed great remains intact. Even today, he’s the #3 TPI sire of all those at 99% reliability and his daughters still flood the Holstein Top 5000 CTPI list. His sons are now building their own legacies with three of them in the Top 8 for TPI. Elton joins his sire, Carlin-M Ivanhoe Bell and his maternal grandsire, Glendell Arlinda Chief, in Select’s Hall of Fame and as one of the all-time great breed improvement sires.
