Eight Holsteins Graduate into Select Sires Lineup

into Select Sires’ Holstein lineup after receiving official
evaluations in November from the U.S. Department of Agriculture,
Interbull and Holstein Association USA. This graduating class is
sired by seven different bulls, with six of these sires debuting
within the top third of Select’s active-A.I. lineup.

lineup, giving producers even greater diversity of genetic choices,"

Balanced Production and Type with High TPIs
Debuting with the fifth-highest Type-Production Index (+1626 TPI™)
at Select Sires, 7HO5891 Ricecrest DILLON-ET*TV is one of nine sires
with a Predicted Transmitting Ability for Milk (PTAM) higher than
+2,000 in Select’s lineup. This son of Pen-Col DUSTER-ET also will be
in the breed’s top 20 for TPI, backed by high protein PTAs (+.00%P +61P),
strong dollar values (+575 CM$ +571 FM$ +569 NM$), a long productive
life (+2.3 PL) and solid type (+1.32 PTAT). Bred by Dale E. and Fred E.

Guttenberg, Iowa, this SUPERIOR SETTLER is from two generations of
Excellent Gold Medal Dams with up to 42,000 pounds of milk. NIXON is
siring tall, strong daughters with wide rumps, steep foot angle and
good mobility, as well as firmly attached udders with correct teat placement.
Improved Calving Ease and Components

that is siring outstanding udders (+1.95UDC) with extraordinary attachments,
an open, dairy rib and improved rump width. Bred by Hilltop Farms Inc.,
Xenia, Ohio, he is out of successive generations of Very Good dams, each
of which produced more than 35,000 pounds of milk. TRUE GRIT has PTA
values of +953M +.01%F +37F -.01%P +26P +2.10T +1374 TPI.
Rounding out the graduating class is 7HO5752 Sullys Bellwood SUPREME-ET*TV,
a Maizefield BELLWOOD-ET son from two generations of Excellent dams with
more than 25,000 pounds of milk and 1,000 pounds of fat. Within Select’s
top 10 for milk production (+1,936 PTAM), he has PTAs of +56F +50P +511 FM$
+1.13T +1465 TPI. SUPREME has been designated a SUPERIOR SETTLER, and was
bred by K. and E. Topp, J. Elsass and L. Maurer, Botkins, Ohio. Producers
