Leading A.I. Organization Names Carroll Sire Analyst

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Nov. 20, 2001 — Select Sires has announced the hiring of Daniel Carroll as its new sire analyst. In this role he will manage animal photography for the Select federation and help coordinate tours. In addition, Carroll will assist with training and servicing the Select Mating Service™ (SMS™) program needs. He will relocate to Select Sires’ headquarters in Plain City, Ohio.


Most recently, Carroll was dairy herd supervisor at Cedar Lane Farm, Oldwick, N.J., coordinating a workforce to care for 300 Holsteins, Jerseys and Brown Swiss. Before that he worked as a dairy procurement specialist and a sire analyst for two other artificial insemination companies, purchasing Holstein and high-component breed bulls, acquiring embryos, providing a corrective-mating service for producers and selecting picturable progeny for use in sire directories. Carroll, who grew up on a 140-head dairy, Carroll-Way Farm, Dodge Center, Minn., holds a bachelor’s of science degree in animal and plant systems from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minn., along with an associate’s degree in applied sciences, in livestock production from the University of Minnesota, Waseca, Minn.
