Sire Directory for Beef Breeders Now Available

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 31, 2001 — The 2002 Beef Sire Directory from Select Sires now is available for producers as they begin planning their herds’ breeding programs for next spring. This 52-page, full-color directory features information about more than 100 sires representing 14 different breeds.

"It includes details about individual sires as well as synchronization-program options for both cows and heifers that can help breeders take full advantage of the benefits A.I. offers."

The directory features Angus bulls like 7AN194 Rito 6I6 of 4B20 6807, who is highly regarded for his ability to transmit low birth weights, explosive growth and superior carcass traits. Another popular Angus sire highlighted is 7AN178 BAR EXT Traveler 205, who is well-known for calving ease, added muscle and productive daughter offspring. In addition, the directory has individual photographs and data for the Select sires representing these popular breeds: Red Angus, Simmental, Hereford, Charolais, Limousin, Gelbvieh, Brahman, Brangus, Beefmaster, Belgian Blue, Gyr and Tarentaise.
