New Beef Estrus-Synchronization

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, March 19, 2002 — A new video with information about how to incorporate basic estrus-synchronization procedures into a successful beef breeding program now is available from Select Sires Inc., Plain City, Ohio. This 35-minute video is ideal for beef producers and their employees, veterinarians, extension agents and other herd consultants.

Titled "Beef Cattle Estrus Synchronization," the video provides comprehensive background information about the economics of beef cattle reproduction and the normal estrous cycle of the cow. This sets the stage for understanding how estrus synchronization can improve profitability. The video also discusses a variety of synchronization protocols - including MGA® SELECT, Select Synch, Co-Synch and the MGA-PGF system for heifers - as well as how they provide flexibility to meet differing management and breeding objectives.
