Five Sires Graduate into Select Sires Lineups

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, May 14, 2002 — Five bulls have graduated into Select Sires’ active-A.I. lineups after receiving official evaluations in May from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Interbull, Holstein Association USA and the American Jersey Cattle Association. Each sire in this graduating class has strong type credentials and is transmitting high levels of milk components. Sired by five different bulls, they enter North America’s largest active-A.I. lineups of 89 Holsteins and 35 high-components breeds.

"May’s graduating class includes our first active-A.I. sons of 528 Etazon LORD LILY-ET and 7HO4164 Second-Look JOLT at Select Sires, as well as a new polled Jersey sire," says Jeff Ziegler, dairy sire analyst, Select Sires. "As a group, these sires are particularly strong in improving components, while adding dairyness and high, wide rear udders to their daughters. They all were sampled through the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™), and represent the balance of production and type that producers have come to expect from Select Sires."
