New Dairy Sire Directories Available


May 2002 Dairy Sire Directory CoverPLAIN CITY, Ohio, May 15, 2002 — Starting Monday, May 20, new Holstein and high-components-breeds sire directories from Select Sires will be available for dairy producers who are updating their herds' mating programs. The directories include information from the quarterly sire evaluations calculated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, InterBull and the breed associations, and released on May 13.

The 40-page, full-color Holstein directory features the latest production and type data for Select Sires' 89 active-A.I. sires, as well as 32 SUPER SAMPLER™ bulls whose semen is available through Select's young-sire proving program - the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™). The details about each active-A.I. sire include his complete proof and an information block that graphically depicts his linear type data. In addition, the directory contains pictures of daughters by industry-leading sires, such as 7HO5851 Sikkema-Star Air MAGNA-ET*TV (+1784 Type-Production Index), 7HO6250 Ricecrest EMERSON-ET*BL,TV (+1663 TPI™), 7HO5687 Sandy-Valley FORBIDDEN-ET*TV (+1650 TPI) and 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET*TV (+1630 TPI).

The 20-page, full-color high-components-breeds directory highlights production and type information for 35 active-A.I. sires and 20 SUPER SAMPLERs representing the Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Jersey and Milking Shorthorn breeds. Complete proof details and an information block are provided for each high-components-breed sire in Select's active-A.I. lineup. In addition, the directory features pictures publicizing the new active-A.I. Jersey sire, 7JE505 Dutch Hollow BRENDON-P-ET.
