Kansas Student Named Intern at Leading U.S. A.I. Organization


PLAIN CITY, Ohio, June 28, 2002 — Doug Richmeier, Hays, Kan., has been selected as the beef-marketing summer intern for Select Sires, Plain City, Ohio. In this role he will assist with the preparation of advertisements and brochures, help photograph bulls and bull progeny, and work on other beef-marketing projects. He will be based in the Select federation’s headquarters office in Plain City.

Richmeier expects to graduate from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan., in December 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. He previously earned an associate’s degree in animal science from Colby Community College, Colby, Kan. Richmeier has worked for several beef ranches and shown cattle extensively for MJR Cattle Services, Hays, Kan. Upon graduation, Richmeier plans a career in the beef industry.

Based in Plain City, Ohio, Select Sires Inc. is a federation of 10 farmer-owned and controlled cooperatives.
