Two Holstein Sires from Illinois to Enter A.I.
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 22, 2002 — Two Holstein sires - 7HO7390 Golden-Oaks
SAVAGE-RED-ET*TV, bred by Golden Oaks Farms, Wauconda, Ill., and 7HO7399
O-Bee JONAH-ET*TV, bred by Gary, Gaylon and Steve Obert, Dakota, Ill.- have
been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™)
sire-sampling system. Based on their outstanding pedigrees, SAVAGE-RED and
JONAH are two of the 300 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2002. In
addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, these young sires
have been identified as SUPER SAMPLERS™. With this designation, their semen
is available to all Holstein breeders.
JONAH is a 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET*TV son. His dam, Meier-Meadows
El Jezebel-ET, produced 4-2 365d 35,082M 4.4% 1,539F 3.3% 1,167P.
Jezebel is scored Excellent (92) and is a Gold Medal Dam (GMD) and Dam of
Merit (DOM). His grandam, Meier-Meadows Melwood Jacki, produced 2-11 365d
27,860M 3.7% 1,031F 2.9% 815P. This DOM is scored Very Good (87).
SAVAGE-RED is sired by STBVQ RUBENS-ET. His dam, Golden-Oaks Lindy
Sally-ET, scored Excellent (90), produced 4-10 365d 38,000M 4.0% 1,517F
3.1% 1,169P and has a lifetime production record of 135,050M 5,577F and
4,396P in 1,596 days. His grandam, S-F-L Enhancer Scarlette-RED, produced
2-11 365d 38,310M 4.2% 1,615F 3.2% 1,244P, which ranked her third for
fat in the country. Scarlette is scored Very Good (89), GMD, DOM, and her
next two dams scored Excellent (94) and Excellent (95), respectfully.
