PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Nov. 12, 2002 — Semen is now available from five Holstein bulls that are new graduates into active-A.I. service at Select Sires, as well as the No. 1 red-and-white sire for Type-Production Index (TPI™). This follows the announcement of new official evaluations by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Interbull and Holstein Association USA on Nov. 11. Two of these graduates will be in the Holstein breed’s top 35 for TPI, with all of these individuals offering an impressive balance of improved type and production.

"Half of the Select Sires graduating class will appear in the top 50 of Holstein Association USA’s TPI list this November," says Blaine Crosser, vice president, dairy products and services, Select Sires. "These individuals represent a nice blend of diverse pedigrees (10 different bulls represented as sires and maternal grandsires). As a bonus, this group has specialists for milk components, milk yield and economically important type traits, such as udders, feet and legs."
