Holstein Sires From Wisconsin to Enter A.I.

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Feb. 9, 2005 — 7HO8246 Frozenes BATMAN-TW*TV, bred by Thomas Frozene, Westfield, Wis., 7HO8294 Jeffana Finley FAME-ET*TV, bred by Heather Henschel, Manawa, Wis., and 7HO8304 Chix ROOSTER-ET*TV, bred by Randal Buske, Hillsboro, Wis., have been chosen to enter Select Sires' Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on their outstanding pedigrees, BATMAN, FAME and ROOSTER are three of 300 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2005. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, these young sires have been identified as SUPER SAMPLERs™. With this designation, their semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

BATMAN is sired by Stouder MORTY-ET. His dam, Frozenes Durham Bella is scored Excellent (91-EX-MS). She produced 3-2 365d 40,240M 4.0% 1,613F 2.9% 1,147P. Her maternal sister, Frozenes Violet Lee, is scored Very Good (89). BATMAN's grandam is Frozenes Broker Vidalia. She is scored Excellent (94) and is Excellent in all five linear categories. She produced 4-9 365d 45,800M 4.0% 1,835F 3.0% 1,361P. The third dam, Roost Jingle Wanda-TW, is scored Excellent (92) and produced over 30,000 pounds of milk as a 7-year-old.

Opsal FINLEY-ET is the sire of FAME. His dam, To-Mar Durham Floral-ET, is scored Very Good (87). She produced 2-2 365d 31,240M 4.2% 1,303F 3.2% 989P. Floral's full sisters, To-Mar Durham Feather-ET and To-Mar Durham Farah-ET, are both scored Very Good (88) and produced over 25,000 pounds of milk as 2-year-olds. FAME's grandam is C Plushanski Bstar Flute-ET. She is scored Excellent (92-2E-EX-MS) and is a Gold Medal Dam as well as a Dam of Merit. Flute produced 6-0 365d 37,430M 4.9% 1,818F 3.4% 1,289P. In her lifetime, Flute produced over 140,000 pounds of milk and 6,500 pounds of fat.
