New Milking Shorthorn to Enter A.I.

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, June 22, 2005 — 7MS344 Blissful Diamond SAM, bred by Rolland Johnson, Tyler, Minn., has been selected to enter the SUPER SAMPLER™ program at Select Sires. With this designation, SAM semen is available to all Milking Shorthorn breeders.

A different pedigree than Milking Shorthorn breeders have previously seen, SAM is a son of Wildwood Cass DIAMOND from Blissful Pepper Sophia, Very Good (88). Sophia is a Blaser Acres PEPPER B2 daughter with a top record of 3-0 333d 18,860M 3.7% 695F 3.4% 636P. Her more than 4,000-pound milk deviation is consistent with her family. SAM's grandam, Blissful Destiny Lassie, produced four calves by her fifth birthday. Lassie, who is scored Very Good (87), has a top record of 3-11 365d 18,670M 4.2% 778F 3.7% 684P. Finally, SAM's third dam produced over 161,000 pounds of milk lifetime. SAM's combination of fancy type and top production makes him a logical mating on 7MS5340 Kuszmar Alfairs OTHELLO daughters and granddaughters.
