Select’s Showcase Selections Dams
Reign Supreme at World Dairy Expo

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 13, 2006 — Select Sires’ elite Showcase Selections™ dams, Huronia Centurion Veronica 20J (E-94%) and Hermitage Counciller Sheba (E-95%) both had outstanding results at the 2006 World Dairy Expo, Madison, Wis., solidifying their positions as exceptional bull mothers. Veronica, owned by Arethusa Farm, Litchfield, Conn., was named supreme champion after winning grand champion of the Central National Jersey Show, making history as the first cow to ever be named grand champion Jersey three years in a row. Placing first in the 6-year-old and older class, Veronica is sired by 7JE329 Sooner CENTURION-ET. Second behind Veronica in the 6-year-old and older class was Counciller Sheba, exhibited by Waverly Farm, Clear Brook, Va.

Veronica and Sheba both have outstanding blue-ribbon sons available as Showcase Selections sires, which are selected based on elite pedigrees and show-winning results. Based on this criteria, 7JE776 ELLIOTTs Golden Velocity-ET and 7JE816 WF Centurn Seize The MOMENT-ET are now available to all Jersey breeders. ELLIOTT is the son of Veronica, who in addition to her recent World Dairy Expo success, has twice been named supreme champion at the All-American Dairy Show, Harrisburg, Pa., and was also grand champion at the All-American Jersey Show, Louisville, Ky. Stack Veronica’s pedigree with ELLIOTT’s sire, 7JE510 GOLDEN Boy of Ferreira, who once stood as the No. 1 type sire in the breed, and you have an ultra-fancy bull in ELLIOTT. MOMENT is the son of Counciller Sheba, who was the 2003 supreme champion at the All-American Dairy Show. Sired by CENTURION, MOMENT is a long, hard-topped bull with style to spare, sure to sire blue-ribbon type and command attention. In addition, MOMENT’s maternal sister, Iatola Sheona Of WF (E-90%), placed second in the junior 3-year-old class at this year’s World Dairy Expo. She is owned by Waverly Farm, Clear Brook, Va.

Also highlighting the Central National Jersey Show at World Dairy Expo was Ratliff Sambo Martina (E-93%), sired by 7JE356 Lester SAMBO. She placed first in the junior 2-year-old class and is owned by Christy Ratliff, Garnett, Kan. Placing second in the fall yearling in milk class was the 7JE442 Rock Ella PARAMOUNT-ET daughter, Canaan Paramount Della, exhibited by UHT and Canaan Jerseys, Tillamook, Ore. SHF Sambo Jive (E-93%), sired by SAMBO and owned by Frederick Petzold, Albion, N.Y., placed third in the 6-year-old and older class. In the same class, Norval Acres Pitino Constance (E-94%) placed fifth. She is the daughter of 7JE342 Altheas Les PITINO Al-Top-ET and is owned by Ratliff Jerseys, Ron and Christy Ratliff, Garnett, Kan.
