TILLER Named Premier Sire for Second Time at World Dairy Expo
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 17, 2006 — For the second year in a row, the most prestigious award given to a bull, the Ted Krueger Premier Sire award, was won by Select Sires’ 7GU360 Trotacre Loral TILLER-ET at the 2006 World Dairy Expo National Guernsey Show, Madison, Wis. TILLER dominated on the colored shavings with 50 daughters exhibited and 25 top-10 finishes.
Guernsey Prairie Tiller Sassy (EX-90), owned by Guernsey Prairie, Marshall, Wis., took intermediate champion after placing first in the senior 2-year-old class. Sassy also won the Fight Bac Guernsey Gold Futurity class. Owned by P. Morey Miller, Granby, Conn., R Way Tiller Liz earned her second consecutive first place Expo win by topping the junior 2-year-old class. Placing second in the same class after winning at the 2006 All-American Dairy Show, Harrisburg, Pa., was Dix-Lee Tiller Joke. She is owned by Travis Dixon, Phillipsburg, Mo. Brown Eden Mozier I Rosa Lisa-ET, exhibited by Four Winds Farm, Hartland, Wis., placed first in the summer yearling heifer class. The 2005 All-American fall calf, Lang Haven Tiller Nirvana-ET, owned by Faria Farms, Frank and Patti Faria, Escalon, Calif., was named reserve junior champion after winning the fall yearling heifer class. Nirvana’s full brother, 7GU414 Lang Haven Tiller NASH-ET, is a popular Super Sampler™ with gender SELECTed™ semen available from Select Sires.
Topping the winter yearling class was Four Winds Tiller Desire, exhibited by Aaron Creighton and leased from Clark and Joy Vilter, Hartland, Wis. Desire also performed well at the National Junior Guernsey Show as she was named junior champion. Knapps Tiller Hope, exhibited by Austin and Landen Knapp, Epworth, Iowa, was named reserve grand champion of the junior show after winning the 5-year-old class.
In addition, 7GU385 Pine Ridge SUPER LUX-ET daughter, Moziers Lux Anne Of Lavon Farm (VG-89), achieved a noteworthy second place in the senior 2-year-old class. She is owned by Lavon Farms and Gary Estes, Plano, Texas.
