Wins Premier Sire for Fifth Time




PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 25, 2006 — For the fifth year in a row, 7MS340 Kuszmar Alfairs OTHELLO was awarded with the Ted Krueger Premier Sire award, the most prestigious award given to a bull, at the 2006 International Milking Shorthorn Show at World Dairy Expo, Madison, Wis.

OTHELLO sired the reserve grand champion female of the show, junior 3-year-old, Lands-Brook Christina-EXP-ET, exhibited by Jesse Landsgard, St. Olaf, Iowa. In the heifer show, Smart Othello F Annie, owned by Lincoln Gibbs and Dana Sickles, Epworth, Iowa, won reserve junior champion honors after topping the spring yearling heifer class. Placing first in the senior 2-year-old class was Innisfail KO Edda 3106, exhibited by John and Stuart Rowe, Davis, Calif. Nix O Jenny placed second in the senior 3-year-old class. She is owned by Nix Milking Shorthorns, Plato, Minn. Second in the 5-year-old class was Innisfail K O Lady 1055, owned by John Stuart Rowe, Davis, Calif.

Holcomb Frolic Felicia-TW, exhibited by Christine Holcomb, Sun City, Fla., daughter of 7MS342 Vinra Peerless FROLIC, also attained success on the colored shavings. She took junior champion female after topping the fall yearling class. In addition, 7MS341 Bar-D-Kuszmar CLAY was the sire of winter yearling heifer winner Michaels K-Clay Daisy, exhibited by Michael Maier, Stitzer, Wis.
