Minnesota Young Sire Named Super Sampler at Select Sires

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Aug. 7, 2007 — 7HO9321 Ralma Gold CROWN-ET, bred by Alfred and Mark Schmitt, Rice, Minn., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, CROWN is one of 330 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2007. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler™. With this designation, CROWN semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

CROWN’s outstanding sire stack, Braedale Goldwyn x 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET x 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET*CV, should provide a balance of terrific type, high components and improved health traits. His dam, Ralma Christmas Cookie-ET (VG-86-VG-MS), is a powerful O MAN daughter averaging 4.6 percent fat and 3 percent protein in her first lactation. Her DURHAM dam completed a 365-day 2-year-old record with nearly 32,000 pounds of milk. CROWN’s third dam is the highly regarded Ralma Juror Faith (EX-91-GMD-DOM). CROWN is expected to sire components, improved health traits and clean-boned cows with improved mammary systems.
