Young Sire from Idaho Enters A.I. at Select

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Mar. 4, 2008 — 7HO9449 Seagull-BAY DREAM-ET, bred by Seagull-Bay Holsteins, American Falls, Idaho, has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement? (PGA?) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, BAY DREAM is one of 335 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2008. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler?. With this designation, BAY DREAM semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

A son of Picston Shottle-ET, BAY DREAM hails from one of the breed’s most famous maternal lines. His dam, A-L-H Donatella-ET, is a Very Good (86-VG-MS) 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET daughter of Markwell Durham Daisy-ET (EX-92-EX-MS) with over 26,000 pounds of milk in less than 300 days. Daisy hails from five generations of Excellent dams, highlighted by Markwell BStar E Raven (EX-95-3E-GMD-DOM), one of the breed’s great brood cows.

“BAY DREAM’s cow family is one of the most highly sought-after families in the world,” said Jeff Ziegler, sire analyst at Select Sires. “This fancy Shottle son should allow the most discriminating breeder’s BAY DREAM to come true.”
