Young Sire from Virginia Enters A.I. at Select Sires



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Mar. 4, 2008 — 7HO9472 S-S-D Boliver ATWOOD-ET, bred by Byard Rohrer, Harrisonburg, Va., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement? (PGA?) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, ATWOOD is one of 335 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2008. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler?. With this designation, ATWOOD semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

ATWOOD’s Excellent (91-EX-MS) 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET dam, Windrose BWM Arneda-ET, produced over 30,000 pounds of milk, 1,100 pounds of fat and almost 900 pounds of protein in her second lactation. She is backed by Windrose Emory Renae-ET (EX-92-EX-MS-2E-DOM), a bull mother with lifetime production of over 152,000 pounds of milk. Crossed on the superior type and production of ATWOOD’s maternal line, his sire, End-Road PVF Boliver-ET, adds superior health traits to a pedigree free of 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET and 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET bloodlines.
