ELEGANT Young Sire from Pala Family Enters A.I. at Select Sires



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Mar. 4, 2008 — 7HO9506 Windy-Knoll-View PITSTOP-ET, bred by James and Nina Burdette, Mercersburg, Pa., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement? (PGA?) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, PITSTOP is one of 335 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2008. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler?. With this designation, PITSTOP semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

PITSTOP is yet another exciting young sire from the Pala family. He is a 7HO7156 Honeycrest ELEGANT-ET son out of an Excellent (91-EX-MS) Comestar Outside-ET full sister to 7HO8175 Windy-Knoll-View PRONTO-ET and 2007 All-American-nominated Windy-Knoll-View Pledge-ET (EX-92-EX-MS). PITSTOP continues a family tradition of outstanding type, production and health traits. His dam, Windy-Knoll-View Policy-ET, completed her first lactation with over 35,000 pounds of milk, 1,700 pounds of fat and 1,100 pounds of protein. As a 4-year-old, Policy produced 39,640 pounds of milk and ranked fifth in the nation in fat with 2,372 pounds in 305 days.
