East Central/Select Sires Honors Employees
After the close of a very successful year, East Central/Select Sires
honored several employees at their annual awards banquet last week in
Madison. Receiving top honors were Tom Turner of St. Cloud and Howie
Minnema of Fond du Lac with the Area Sales Manager (ASM) of the Year
Award and Member Service Representative (MSR) of the Year award,
respectively. Runners-up to these prestigious awards were Glen Stewart,
Lomira, in the ASM category, and Dave Hahn, Campbellsport, in the MSR
category. These top four winners ranked high in divisions such as
sales volume, sales increase, and credit management to earn these awards.

Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Outstanding
Effort Award, awarded to Kevin Jorgensen of Waupun. One of the most
highly regarded honors of the evening, this award is presented to the
individual who most contributes his time and talents in a manner that
is above and beyond expectations.
Several employees were recognized for reaching important career benchmarks
for number of first-service cows inseminated. Hahn was recognized for
servicing over 80,000 first-service cows; Don Markhardt, Beaver Dam,
Howie Minnema, Fond du Lac, and Bob Boatman, Darlington, were recognized
for servicing over 70,000 first-service cows; Steve Auchtung, Oakfield,
Kurt Barnes, Kiel, and Dan Potterton, Mineral Point, were recognized for
servicing 40,000 first-service cows; Dale Griebenow, Watertown, and
Dennis Welsh, Muscoda, were both presented awards for servicing 20,000
first-service cows.
Kurt Barnes, Kiel, Jeff Flock, Middleton, Dan Reilly, La Valle, and
Steve Otteson, Arlington, were all recognized with Lifetime Service
awards from the National Association of Animal Breeders for reaching
the benchmark of servicing 35,000 first-service cows.
Receiving awards for their years of service were Frank Blahnik, Cuba City,
Kevin Farnsworth, Deerfield, Todd Kortbein, Oakdale, Don Markhardt,
Beaver Dam, and Dick Paul, Randolph, for 20 years of service; Bryan Witt,
Browntown, for 15 years of service; Kim Smith, Waupun, Dan Reilly, La Valle,
Dan Potterton, Mineral Point, Darwin Clifton, Potosi, and Kurt Barnes, Kiel,
for ten years of service; Kitty Richter, Waupun, and Lynn Harbaugh, Beaver Dam,
for five years of service.

Service Volume Award, Direct Herd Volume Award, MSR Area Total Service

Bryan Witt, Browntown - Region E MSR of the Year Award and SMS Volume Award
Larry Krause, Viroqua - Region F MSR of the Year Award
Rod Alton, Monroe - Diversified Product Increase Award
Frank Blahnik, Cuba City - Credit Management Award
Chad Minnema, Waupun - Direct Herd Increase Award and Total Unit Increase Award
