WAUPUN, Wis., June 2004 — In conclusion of another successful year, East Central/Select Sires recently honored employees at their annual awards banquet in Madison. Receiving top honors this year were Kurt Barnes of Kiel, Wis. with the Member Service Representative (MSR) of the Year award and Tom Turner of St.Cloud, Wis. with the Area Sales Manager (ASM) of the Year award. Both men ranked high in several sales and service categories to capture these awards. Barnes also was awarded the Personal Total Service Volume Award, Credit Management Award, Area Total Service Volume and Diversified Product Increase awards. Turner also receives awards for Direct Herd Sales Volume, Total Unit Volume and Credit Management in his area.
Recognized as runner-up MSR of the Year was Dale Griebenow of Watertown, Wis. who also took
home awards for MSR of the Year for Region C, Area Total Service Increase and Total Unit Increase. Griebenow was also honored for reaching over 35,000 first-services so far in his career as a professional A.I. technician.
Brad Fossum of Lodi, Wis., and David Sarbacker, Edgerton, Wis., were honored as runner-up
ASM’s of the Year. As ASM’s in the same region, Fossum and Sarbacker were also recognized
with awards for Direct Herd Sales Increase, Total Unit Increase and Select Mating Service evaluations.
Steve Kacuba of Beaver Dam, Wis., took home the coveted Outstanding Effort Award, given to
the employee who most decidedly goes above and beyond their job responsibilities. Steve is a
reproductive specialist and works closely with herd owners to maximize their heat detection
and breeding programs.
Regional MSR awards were also awarded, based on top sales performance by regions within the
cooperative, and were presented to the following MSR’s: Kurt Barnes, Kiel, Wis., Region A MSR of the Year; Dave Hahn, Campbellsport, Wis., Region B MSR of the Year; Dale Griebenow, Watertown, Wis., Region C MSR of the Year; Doug Rake, North Freedom, Wis., Region D MSR of the Year; Eric Beirman, Fennimore, Wis., Region E MSR of the Year; Bob Radke, Bangor, Wis., Region F MSR of the Year.
In addition to the sales awards, several Lifetime Service awards were presented. Howie Minnema of Fond du Lac, Wis., Bob Boatman of Darlington, Wis., and Don Markhardt of Beaver Dam, Wis., were recognized for breeding over 80,000 first services; Kevin Farnsworth of Deerfield, Wis., for over 60,000; Kurt Barnes of Kiel, Wis., Frank Blahnik of Cuba City, Wis., and Steve Auchtung of Oakfield, Wis., for over 50,000.
Steve Otteson of Arlington, Wis., Bryan Witt of Browntown, Wis., and Doug Rake of Freedom, Wis., were honored for over 40,000; Dale Griebenow of Watertown, Wis., and Dennis Hahn of Campbellsport, Wis., for over 35,000; John Hulbert of Monticello, Wis., for 20,000; Roger Belling of Rosendale, Wis., Sandy Hoppmann of Wilton, Wis., and Earl Harpstrite of Monroe, Wis., were recognized for having over 10,000 first services.
Sandy Neitzel of Fox Lake, Wis., was honored for 35 years of service to the cooperative while Ron Giese of Beloit, Wis., was recognized for 30 years of service to East Central/Select Sires. Honored for 20 years was Linda Van Loo of Burnett, Wis., Steve Otteson of Arlington, Wis., and Dennis Welsh of Muscoda, Wis., were recognized for 15 years of service.
Bob Radke of Bangor,Wis., Dave Sime of Cuba City, Wis., Kevin Jorgensen of Waupun,Wis., and Eric Olstad of Stoughton, Wis., were honored for 10 years of service. Honored for 5 years of service were Deb Giese of Fond du Lac, Wis., Earl Harpstrite of Monroe, Wis., and Shelly Lammers of Brandon, Wis.
Additional award winners are as follows: Phil Dieter, Madison; Personal Total Service Increase; Dave Hahn, Campbellsport; Direct Herd Volume, Total Unit Volume, SMS Volume, Diversified Product Volume and EC/SS Area Contribution; Brian Immel, Campbellsport; Credit Management; Dan Reilly, La Valle; Direct Herd Increase; Glen Stewart, Lomira; Direct Herd Personal Sales Volume; Dave Placke, Cuba City; Direct Herd Personal Sales Increase.
