"SMS makes breeding cows much easier. When cows come in heat, all we have to do is look at the printout and we know which service sires to use. Before, it was difficult to individually mate the 400 cows in our herd. It just became too much for us to handle. Since our SMS evalutor Dennis Fischer has been doing our matings, the herd is more uniform. Dennis is more critical of the cows' faults than we would be. As a result, our cows are lasting longer and we are building more prominent cow families."

  • DeBoer Fred Snowangel (EX-90) produced a record of 4-5 365d 39,744M 5.1% 2,016F 3.0% 1,200P. She is a FRED daughter that was the No. 13 CTPI and NM$ cow in November. She also was the No. 1 fat cow and is contracted to Select Sires.

  • DeBoer Durham Snowcrystal (VG-85), a DURHAM daughter, is a sister to Snow Cap. She was the No. 32 CTPI cow and the No. 44 NM$ cow. She was the result of an SMSII heifer mating and also is contracted to Select Sires. Her first production record is 1-11 365d 34,179M 4.4% 1,582F 3.3% 1,113P.
