SELECT-SIRED COWS CLAIM TOP HONORS AT TWO NATIONAL SPRING SHOWS

A fancy 4-year-old daughter of 7HO5157 DURHAM, Reynell Lori Elton, was named grand champion of the Southern National Show held in Stillwater, Okla., in April. Lori is owned by Tex-Sun-Valley Holsteins,Texas, and Regancrest, Iowa.

Reserve champion honors went to the intermediate champion, first place and best-uddered senior 3-year-old, Platte Vue Star Cora. Cora is a 7HO4246 Roselund View Black STARBOY daughter owned by Stacey Rottinghaus, Seneca, Kan.

The Midwest Spring National Show was held April 5 in Jefferson, Wis. Vandyk-K Integrity Paradise, the well-known daughter of 7HO4213 INTEGRITY, was the winning 5-year-old cow and captured top honors as grand champion and best udder of the show.

SELECT-SIRED CATTLE WIN IN CANADA

Idee Lustre (INTEGRITY) took grand champion honors at the National Holstein Convention Show in Calgary, Canada. Other Select- sired cattle included: Roylane Jolt Delilah (JOLT), second senior 3-year-old; Thorncrest Sapphire (9HO1833 ENCORE), first junior yearling; Miss Zach Encore Pegge (ENCORE), first winter calf; and a DURHAM daughter owned by Stanhope-Wedgewood, British Columbia, Canada, was the first intermediate yearling and reserve junior champion.

SUPER 7HO4213 INTEGRITY

An INTEGRITY daughter is making an impact in the Dunnroamin Holsteins herd, Watertown, Wis. Robthom Zima Integrity is now scored Excellent (93) and has finished a 4-7 record in 365 days of 41,976M 4.0% 1,679F 3.6% 1,511P.

Darin & Ron Miller, Dodgeville, Wis., also are milking an outstanding INTEGRITY daughter. At 2-8 she has 329d 36,780M 1,399F 947P.

7HO4638 TERRY TOPS SALE

The Top 10 Sale, held in Spring Grove, Minn., saw 112 lots sell for an average price of $6,233. The top-selling animal was a TERRY heifer from Ricecrest Bwood Brianne, attracting a bid of $38,000. Consigned by Kick-It-Up Holsteins, she was purchased by Sandy Valley Farms, Scandinavia, Wis. The second high-seller was another TERRY daughter from Sandy Valley BW Frostine (VG-87), who brought a bid of $35,000 for her consignor.

Snavlins Benedict Bessie (VG-85) produced a phenomenal 4-year-old record of 365d 3X 50,711M 3.7% 1,876F 3.0% 1,521P for her owners, Coyne Farms, Inc., Avon, N.Y.

GUERNSEY SALE TOPPERS

Spring Walk Hornets Cookie (7GU319 HORNET) topped the Buckeye Classic Guernsey Sale for $3,200. Cookie was consigned by Spring Walk Farm, Big Prairie, Ohio, and purchased by Sheilee and Kristen O’Malley, Gilman, Wis.

Barts Loral Lynn (7GU322 LORAL) sold for $6,100 to top the Kentucky National Show & Sale for consignors Amber and Bart Branstetter, Summer Shade, Ky. This fancy yearling, captured Reserve Junior All-American Honors. Lynn was purchased by Hack Elenbaas, Allegan, Mich.

Pine Grove Luxury Cameo (7GU339 LUXURY) brought $4,200 to be the high seller at the Pennsylvania Blue Halter Sale. Cameo was consigned to the sale by Reuben Miller, Sugarcreek, Ohio, and bought by Mt. Ararat Farm, Port Deposit, Md.

TEGRA x INTEGRITY ET Wins AT MERCOLACTEA DAIRY SHOW

Gacj Jassy Integrity Tegra, owned by Guillermo Miretti, won a very competitive intermediate calf class at the first Mercolactea Dairy Show in Cordoba, Argentina.

Tegra is the result of an embryo created by Select Sires Embryo Division and sold to Miretti in late 1998. Her dam is Doco Leadman Tegra-ET, an Excellent (90) LEADMAN daughter with 3-11 365d 28,040M 3.5% 973 3.4% 948P. Her sire is INTEGRITY.
