AMATEUR Daughter Milking
Stone Holm Amateur Bonnie, owned by Peter and Michael
Barrett, Putney, Vt., had three tests in excess of
100 pounds of milk, and is projected to a mature
equivalent of 34,788M 3.2% 1,126F 3.1% 1,088P at
2 years, 2 months of age. Bonnie is a daughter of
7HO6168 Bay-Bob AMATEUR-ET*TV.
SAMBO Tops Show and Sale
Millers Majestic Kristie was reserve grand champion of
the Kentucky National Show and high seller of the Kentucky
National Sale, Louisville, Ky., on March 29. The daughter
of SAMBO was purchased for $8,000 by Eddie Harris, Cleveland,
Tenn., and was consigned by Dick Miller and Family, Osgood, Ind.
California Cows Milking
Groppetti & Sons Dairy, San Joaquin, Calif., reports that
Kam-Ja Bubba No. 391-Grade, a daughter of 7HO4937 Wa-Del
BUBBA-ET*TV, produced more than 23,000 pounds of milk as a
2-year-old, and had two of the first three tests of her
second lactation in excess of 100 pounds. Her 7HO5442 Muranda
Mandel MOE-ET*TV dam completed two records of more than
30,000 pounds of milk.
In addition, Kam-Ja Parnell No. 206-Grade, a 7HO6177 MIG
PARNELL-ET*TV daughter, produced 2-0 274d 23,630M 3.6%
855F 3.2% 745P. She is acked by three generations of
Select-sired dams.

BW Legion May K302, owned by Brentwood Farms, Orland, Calif.,
now is Excellent (93). She is a daughter of 7JE696 BW LEGION.
New Excellents
Poplar-Springs T Grit 668 became the first Excellent daughter
of 7HO5801 Slave-Acres TRUE GRIT-ET*TV when she scored 90 for
owner Paul Edwards, Newton, Miss.
Kevin Oberholser, Chambersburg, Pa., reports that Brookside
Tiller Iola, a daughter of 7GU360 Trotacre Loral TILLER-ET,
now is Excellent (90). Walnut Ridge Amen Flirt, a 9GU141 Blackwater
Lord AMEN daughter owned by Walnut Ridge Farm, Middletown, Md.,
also is Excellent (90).
Brownswitch Discover Page, a 9BS81 Round Hill Pres DISCOVER ET
daughter, now is Excellent (90-EX-91-MS). Page is owned by
Erica Lloyd, Pottstown, Pa.
Pleasing EMERSON Results
Quiet-Brook Emerson Tidy, a daughter of EMERSON, now is
Very Good (86), and milked 180 pounds on her first test at
40 days fresh (second lactation). Tidy is owned by Ideal Farm,
Hudson Falls, N.Y.
Morningview Emerson Justic-ET*TL, Very Good (86), was purchased
for $28,000 by Dennius Kleve, Dundee, Iowa, at the Magic of
Morningview Sale on April 26 in Durango, Iowa. She was consigned
by sale hosts Paul Schmitt and family.
LEWIS Daughters Excel
Cline Brubaker, Rocky Mount, Va., is especially pleased with
his daughters of 7GU366 Trotacre Enhancer LEWIS-ET. Four 3-year-olds
in his herd recently scored Very Good. In addition, LEWIS daughters
Windsong Lewis Frosty scored Very Good (88) and Windsong Lewis
Dynamite scored Excellent (90) for owner Ray Darling, Barton, Vt.
PGA Results
Brian Christensen, Abbotsford, Wis., is pleased with
Harcris Teamster Theo F-20, a daughter of PGA™ graduate
7HO6025 De-Matt Rudolph TEAMSTER-ET*TV. In 2002, more
than 300 Holsteins were sampled through the program,
and Select is committed to annually sampling more than
350 bulls of the six dairy breeds through the Program
for Genetic Advancement™.
High-Production Cow Select Sired
In February, Koepke K0017229-1660, affectionately known
as "Granny," earned a place in history when she broke a
long-held record for lifetime milk production. At 17
years of age, the daughter of 7HO543 Carlin-M Ivanhoe
BELL*CV produced 429,132 pounds of milk. Owners at
Koepke Farms, Oconomowoc, Wis., celebrated her milestone
by hosting a reception on April 1 at the farm. Among
the nearly 200 attendees were local media and industry
representatives, including retired general manager of
Select Sires Inc., Dick Chichester, who presented a
framed Bonnie Mohr print of BELL to the Koepke family.

Oklahoma Show Champions
Reserve grand champion of the Southern National Holstein Show,
Stillwater, Okla., was Robthom Sugar Integrity, a daughter of
INTEGRITY owned by Monica Ling, Springfield, Mo. Reserve junior
champion of the April 13 event was Ozark-Royal Zenith Mandy, a
7HO6782 Ocean-View ZENITH-TW-ET*TV daughter owned by Robert
Gallivan, Halfway, Mo.
Ohio Spring Dairy Expo
Select Sires was well-represented at the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo
shows and sales on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio.
Lutz-Brookview Sassy F-ET, an October calf sired by FORBIDDEN,
topped the Spring Expo Sale when she sold for $11,500 to Gerald
Nurre, Dyersville, Iowa. The calf was consigned by Robert Lutz,
Fairfield, Ky.
GR Xanadu Brendon Kit Kat-P, a 7JE505 Dutch Hollow BRENDON-P-ET
daughter owned by Sally Oakes, Greenville, Pa., was intermediate
champion of the Jersey show.
Land of Living G Julie Ann, sired by 7GU364 Land of Living E GARTH,
sold for $3,600 to Morey Miller, Granby, Conn. She was consigned
by Land of Living Farm, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
High-Scoring 2-Year-Olds
Dan Koester, Dakota, Ill., reports that La Clar Bubba Sophia
now is Excellent (90) and La Clar Approval Becky was scored
Very Good (85). Sophia is a daughter of BUBBA and Becky is
sired by 7HO8419 Mr Jed APPROVAL-ET*TR,TV.
Wildvale BW Marshall Evening, a MARSHALL daughter, scored
Very Good (85) for owner Chris Wild, Windslow, Ill.
Two daughters of 7JE510 GOLDEN Boy of Ferreira, Dutch Hollow
Golden Mirror-P-ET and Dutch Hollow Golden Mirage-P-ET, were
scored Very Good (85) and (86), respectively. Mirror and
Mirage are full sisters to PGA sire 7JE627 Dutch Hollow Gold
Medal-P-ET, and are owned by Dutch Hollow Farm, Schodack Landing, N.Y.
Select Genetics at New York Sale
Milk & Honey Durham Lulu-ET topped the New York Spring National
Sale, April 12, Syracuse, N.Y., when she sold for $8,900 to the
St. Lou Crew syndicate, Oldwick, N.J. Lulu, an October 2002 DURHAM
daughter is a maternal sister to SUPER SAMPLER™ 7HO7477 Milk&Honey
OSIDE Landon-ET*TV. She was consigned by Cedar Lane Farm, Oldwick, N.J.
Select Represented Internationally
Select had a clean sweep at 2002 Expo Internacional Holstein,
Querretaro, Mexico. 7HO4164 Second-Look JOLT*TV daughter,
Luck-E Jolt Ann, Excellent (92), was grand champion. Macland
Emerson Erica, by EMERSON, was intermediate champion and
Macland Durham Stacie, by DURHAM, was junior champion.
