SELECTIONS - Fall 2003
BERETTA Honored During Jersey Annual Meetings
June 25 through 28 were the official dates for the
American Jersey Cattle Association and National
All-Jersey Inc. annual meetings, but on two of those
days, Select Sires Inc. and COBA/Select Sires had special
plans for those attending the convention in Ohio.
On Thursday, June 26, visitors were invited to Schirm
Jersey Farm, owned by Paul and Dawn Schirm, West Salem,
Ohio, to enjoy a meal sponsored by COBA/Select Sires and
to view a display of Select-sired daughters. Among the
cows on display was the No. 1 JPITM cow in the breed,
Berrettas Linnette, sired by 7JE254 Mason Boomer Sooner
BERRETTA and owned by Wendy Bok, Defiance, Ohio. Other
daughters of bulls, such as 7JE535 Windy Willow Montana
JACE, 7JE510 GOLDEN Boy of Ferreira and 7JE696 BW LEGION,
also were displayed. To see a video of the daughter display
with commentary from Jeff Ziegler, contact your member
organization.
On June 28, Select Sires hosted a lunch at the headquarters
in Plain City. Visitors were invited to meet with Select
staff at informational booths on programs and services.
They also were treated with a bull parade featuring some
of the most popular bulls in the breed, including 7JE442
Rock Ella PARAMOUNT-ET, 7JE356 Lester SAMBO and 7JE424
Molly Brook Glnwood FREEDOM-ET.
