World Dairy Expo
Select Sires genetics were also well-represented at this
year’s World Dairy Expo high-component breed events. Below
are some of the highlights:
Ayrshire - Dinkness Nadia, a senior 3-year-old daughter of
7AY56 Woodland View Pru OLYMPIC 2-ET, was first for owners
Dennis and Meri Devore, Carbondale, Ill., and was also the
Ayrshire champion of the Kingsmill Farm II International Futurity.
Brown Swiss - Hoodstead Mascot Nudge-ET was reserve junior
champion of the Central National Brown Swiss Show. Nudge is
a 7BS733 Misa Jetway MASCOT ET daughter and is owned by
The Nudge Syndicate, Emmitsburg, Md.
Guernsey - Junior champion of the junior and open shows was
Marodore Lancelot Emily, a junior calf owned by Seth and
Kaleb Kohler, Baltimore, Ohio. This daughter of 7GU392 Marodore
Onwards LANCELOT later topped the International Guernsey Classic
Sale when she sold for $7,600 to Spring Walk Farm, Big Prairie, Ohio.
In addition, 7GU330 Jensgolden Proking ROYAL OAK was premier
sire of the Central National Guernsey Show.
Jersey - Huronia Centurion Veronica 20J was reserve supreme
champion for Arethusa Farm, Litchfield, Conn. Veronica, a
7JE329 Sooner CENTURION-ET daughter, has a 7JE510 GOLDEN
Boy of Ferreira son in sampling at Select Sires. Semen
will be available in early 2005.
Milking Shorthorn - Sterryan Style, owned by Ryan Sterry,
Ossep, Wis., was grand champion of the International Milking
Shorthorn Show. Style is a daughter of 7MS340 Kuszmar Alfairs
OTHELLO. OTHELLO was again named premier sire of the Milking
Shorthorn show.
More DURHAM Results
At the Sept. 1 Minnesota State Fair Open Holstein Show,
DURHAM daughter Regancrest-PR Barbie-ET, Very Good (89),
was intermediate and reserve grand champion for owner Regancrest
Farm, Waukon, Iowa. Vital-I Durham Glamour, Very Good (88), was
reserve intermediate champion for Rottinghaus Holsteins, Seneca, Kan.
DURHAM was also named premier sire of the Wisconsin Championship
Show, held in July. DURHAM sired the reserve intermediate champion,
Scientific Debutante Rae-ET, Very Good (89), Matt and Mandy Nunes,
Chippewa Falls, Wis., and the junior champion, Wide-Open Durham
Paris, Charlie, Katie and Eddie Bue, Alma Center, Wis.
Savage-Leigh Licorice-ET, a DURHAM daughter and full sister to
7HO7075 Savage-Leigh LELAND-ET*TV, was intermediate champion,
best bred and owned and reserve grand champion at the New York
International Spring Holstein Show. Licorice is owned by Savage-Leigh
Farms, Knoxville, Md.
Goodsons Durham Bashful, owned by Goodsons
Farm, Arcadia, Ohio, was raised to Excellent (93).
MARMAX Daughter Milking Well
Firdell Carol-Red, a Very Good (85) daughter of 7HO6682
B-Hiddenhills Mar MARMAX-ET*RC,TV, recently completed a
record of 2-0 365d 41,440M 3.2% 1,335F 2.9% 1,187P.
Carol is owned by B. Richard Orton, Salem, Utah.

Excellent(90) with over 25,000 pounds of milk on her best

New York Sale Toppers
Topping the Bacon Hill Bonanza, Schuylerville, New York,
July 17, 2004, at $48,500 was Kings-Ransom Bmar Ruth-ET, a
Very Good (88) daughter of 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET*TV.
Ruth was consigned by Kings-Ransom Farm, Schuylerville, N.Y., and
purchased by Palmyra Farm, Hagerstown, Md. The third highest
seller of the day at $20,200 was a daughter of 7HO5442 Muranda
Mandel MOE-ET*TV. Kings-Ransom Moe Raisin-ET, Very Good (86),
also consigned by Kings-Ransom Farm, was purchased by Kevin,
Carrie, Larry and Jean Peck, Schuylerville, N.Y.
O MAN Leads Sales
A first-choice female sired by 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred JUSTICE-ET*TV
from the No. 1 CTPI cow, DeBoer BW Marshall Snowcap*CV (a daughter
of BW MARSHALL), was the third-high seller at the National
Convention Silent Sale, Omaha, Nebraska, July 2-3, 2004.

around the country. Among the highest scored are SC Sunny Day
Banger Destiny, Very Good (89), Perkins and Hickman, Ky. and Tenn.;

Dirigo Hi Metro Charie, Dirigo Holsteins, Canton, Maine, was reserve
junior champion at the Maine State Fair on Aug. 30 in Windsor, Maine.

Budjon-JK Encore Express-ET, a daughter of 9HO1833 Marcrest
ENCORE*TV, was raised to Excellent (95) with an Excellent (94)
mammary system for owners Budjon Farms, Lomira, Wis. Express is

Sampler™ at Select Sires.
Gaige Highlight Tamara, an Excellent (95) daughter of 7HO3257
HIGHLIGHT Mr Mark Cinder-ET*CV,TD, was grand champion of the
New York State Fair Holstein Show, Aug. 30, 2004, Syracuse, N.Y.
Owned by Allison Gaige, Schoharie, N.Y., Tamara also placed first
in the 125,000-pound class at the World Dairy Expo International
Holstein Show, Madison, Wis.
New Very Good Scores
Welcome Dane Lussy, William Peck, Schuylerville, N.Y., was
recently scored Very Good (85). She is a daughter of 7HO5710

Radine Louie Maria, a daughter of 7HO5592
Wil-Hart E LOUIE-ET*TV owned by Borman Farm, Kingdom City,
Mo., is now Very Good (87).
Ms Louisiana-Red-ET, Golden Leader Syndicate, Wis.,
is now Very Good (85). This MARMAX daughter is a full
sister to 7HO7633 MR LOMAX-RED-ET, the only MARMAX son
sampled to A.I.

Golden Kegan-ET is Excellent (90) for Eastglen Jerseys,

New Red Record Holder
In May, Rich-J Misty July-Red became the first Red-and-White
Holstein to produce more than 300,000 pounds lifetime. July
is a daughter of 7HO2777 MISTY-Maples Arlinda Magnet and is
owned by B. Richard Orton, Salem, Utah.
