and Steve Schmitt, Sweetwater Dairy LLC, Dane, Wis.

She is sired by the SUPER SAMPLER™ 7HO5364 Quietcove-RAR BEACON-ET. While BEACON never graduated into the active-A.I. lineup, he does have 147 registered progeny.

"The tremendous performance of this cow demonstrates the high level of genetics available through Select Sires Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) and SUPER SAMPLER program," says Chuck Sattler, vice president of genetic programs. "We at Select Sires extend our congratulations to the team of Niesen and Schmitt."

Sweetwater Dairy LLC utilizes Select Mating Service™ (SMS™) with nearly 100 percent of the matings made to Select Sires proven sires and SUPER SAMPLERs.

"We are very happy and satisfied with the results we have seen. Our BEACON cow is just one example of how good, reliable genetics can raise profits on the bottom line, generation after generation," says Schmitt.

Niesen and Schmitt purchased Hartje-Meyer 9792 five years ago as a 2-year-old. Now a powerful, deep-bodied cow, she has had more than twelve milk-test records over 200 pounds of milk per day and has had a peak yield of 276 pounds, says Schmitt. Her past lactations include one being over 40,000 pounds and two over 38,000 pounds of milk. Currently, she is being flushed to DURHAM and will soon be classified. Beyond the famous BEACON cow, Sweetwater Dairy LLC has 145 cows averaging more than 24,800 pounds of milk.
