Leading A.I. Organization Names Sattler Vice President


Charles 'Chuck' SattlerPLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 20, 2000 - Select Sires, Inc. has announced the hiring of Charles "Chuck" Sattler as its vice president, dairy progeny testing and genetic research. In this role he will manage the organization's progeny-testing activities, which involve more than 4,000 PGA (Program for Genetic Advancement) herds. He will relocate to Select Sires' headquarters in Plain City, Ohio.

Sattler has a solid background in genetics, working 12 years for the National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB), Columbia, Mo., - most recently as its genetics programs and information services administrator. Formerly the chairman of the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding, he now serves on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Genetic Resources Advisory Committee and is a director of the National Dairy Shrine. Sattler holds a bachelor's degree in dairy science and a master's degree in dairy cattle breeding, both from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis. He grew up on a registered Guernsey farm located in Malone, Wis.
