The World's source for Bovine Genetics
Red-Carrier Bred in Canada to be A.I.-Sampled in U.S.

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, April 16, 2001 — 7HO6781 Granduc PERFORMANCE-ET*TL*RC, bred by Leduc Brothers Farm Ltd., Beauharnois, Quebec, Canada, has been chosen to enter Select Sires' Program for Genetic Advancement (PGA) sire-sampling system. Based on his unique pedigree, PERFORMANCE is one of 315 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2001. In addition to being sampled through PGA Cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler. With this designation, his semen is available to all interested Holstein breeders.

PERFORMANCE *RC is not the typical young sire to enter A.I. He is one of the first red factor Wa-Del CONVINCER-ET*TL sons to be sampled. His maternal pedigree is also relatively unique to many U.S. breeding programs. His dam, Granduc Jewel Astre (VG-85), is a Duregal ASTRE Starbuck-ET daughter with an outstanding 4-year-old record of 46,230 pounds of milk, 1,850 pounds of fat and 1,510 pounds of protein, making her one of the top Lifetime Profit Index (LPI) cows in Canada. Her dam, a Robe-Jan SKYLER Chief daughter, also has records in excess of 40,000 pounds of milk. All of this production is evident in PERFORMANCE's high Parent Average (PA) of +2419 Milk, +78 Fat and +59 Protein.

Based in Plain City, Ohio, Select Sires Inc. is a federation of 10 farmer-owned and controlled cooperatives. It provides highly fertile semen as well as excellence in service and programs to achieve its basic objective of supplying livestock breeders with America's best genetics at a reasonable price.
