Two Holstein Young Sires Enter A.I.


PLAIN CITY, Ohio, July 6, 2001 — Two Holstein young sires - 7HO6927 Rich-J TELEX-RED-ET*TL, bred by B. Richard Orton, Salem, Utah, and 7HO6911 Wilcoxview DURATION-ET, bred by Wilcox Farms, Roy, Wash. - have been chosen to enter Select Sires' Program for Genetic Advancement (PGA) sire-sampling system. Based on their outstanding pedigrees, TELEX-RED and DURATION are two of 315 Holstein bulls from throughout the United States to enter the program in 2001. In addition to being sampled through PGA Cooperator herds, these young sires have been identified as Super Samplers. With this designation, their semen is available to all interested Holstein breeders.

One of very few sons of La-Poe-NEYER BS Mario-ET*RC*TL, TELEX-RED is out of Rich-J Bellwood Theresa*RC (VG-85). Theresa produced 3x 365d 34,700M 3.7% 1,273F 3.2% 1,112P at 2-05. TELEX-RED’s grandam, Exranco Roch Theresa-RED-ET (VG-87), has produced three records more than 33,000 pounds of milk and a lifetime record of 149,170 pounds of milk.

DURATION is a Wa-Del CONVINCER-ET*TL son out of the Dellia family. His dam, Regancrest Durene-ET (VG-88-EX-MS), a 9HO1833 Marcrest ENCORE*TL daughter, is the highest scored ENCORE daughter of Snow-N Denises Dellia (EX-95-2E-GMD-DOM). In 365 days, Durene produced a record of 24,360 pounds of milk, 895 pounds of fat, and 836 pounds of protein at two years and six months.
