Jersey Young Sire Ready for Components Markets


PLAIN CITY, Ohio, July 6, 2001 — 7JE603 Ferreira Mannix JAGUAR-ET, bred by Travis Ferreira, Lemoore, Calif., has been chosen to enter Select Sires' Program for Genetic Advancement (PGA) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, JAGUAR is just one of 33 Jersey bulls from throughout the United States to enter the program in 2001. In addition to being sampled through PGA Cooperator herds, these young sires have been identified as Super Samplers. With this designation, their semen is available to all Jersey breeders.

A son of Rock Maple Brook MANNIX, JAGUAR is out of Golden MBSB Of Twin Haven-ET (EX-94). Known to Jersey breeders as "Golden", she is the world record butterfat champion with a 365 day record of 2x 34,876M 6.9% 2,421F 4.1% 1,424P at four years, one month of age. Golden is the former No. 2 Production Type Index (PTI) cow in the Jersey breed. A maternal sister to JAGUAR topped the 2000 All-American Jersey Sale at $40,000.
