Polled Jersey Young Sire Bred in Oregon to Enter A.I.


PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 4, 2001 — 7JE628 Sunset Canyon MATRIX-P-ET, a Jersey young sire bred by Nathan A. Jensen, Beaver, Ore., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, MATRIX is one of 33 Jersey bulls to enter the program in 2001. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a SUPER SAMPLER™. With this designation, his semen is available to all Jersey breeders.

MATRIX is a son of Isdk Fyn LEMVIG. His dam, Dutch Hollow T Matron-P-ET, is scored Very Good (88) and produced 32,138 pounds of milk, 1,520 pounds of fat and 1,161 pounds of protein in 365 days at 3 years, 8 months of age. The second dam in this polled young sire’s pedigree is Dutch Hollow S Joe Mistress-P. Scored Very Good (85), her best record stands at 21,200 pounds of milk, 890 pounds of fat and 766 pounds of protein.
