PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 4, 2001 — 7HO6956 Sure-View APOLLO-ET, bred by Doug Schmitt, Hilbert, Wis., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, APOLLO is one of 300 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2001. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a SUPER SAMPLER™. With this designation, his semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

APOLLO is sired by Etazon ADDISON-ET. His dam is Sure-View Hunter Annabel-ET, an Excellent daughter of 7HO3847 Ameldin II Pontiac HUNTER. Her 2-year-old production record exceeded 38,000 pounds of milk, 1,500 pounds of fat and 1,200 pounds of protein. At 4 years, 7 months of age, her record in progress is 58,008 pounds of milk, 2,104 pounds of fat and 1,743 pounds of protein in 337 days. The second dam in APOLLO’s pedigree is Sure-View Jubilant Ava. She is scored Very Good (87) with an Excellent mammary system and is a Gold Medal Dam (GMD) and Dam of Merit (DOM). Her best record stands at 30,400 pounds of milk, 1,282 pounds of fat and 1,057 pounds of protein.
