New Dairy Sire Evaluations Available

By 9 p.m. EDT on Monday, Aug. 11, this Web site will carry the latest production and type data for all dairy breeds represented in the Select Sires lineup. At that time, the site also will contain new type composite information for Select's Holstein lineup as well as pictures showing daughters of many sires.

"Having access to up-to-date sire evaluations in a convenient, timely fashion is important to dairy producers," says Blaine Crosser, vice president, dairy sire products and services, Select Sires. "That's why we are leveraging Internet technology to provide complete August sire evaluations for our entire dairy lineup on the same day we receive information from USDA and other sources."

By Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, www.selectsires.com also will offer an online sire directory for each dairy breed in English. Virtual sire directories in Portuguese and Spanish languages will be available on Friday, Aug. 15. One virtual directory feature enables producers to easily sort the sires by milk, protein and type. Convenient links allow them to look at detailed information on each sire, including his proof, linear type data and photograph. In addition, many individual pages show pictures of daughters.

All of the information on www.selectsires.com is available free to producers and others who are interested in obtaining up-to-date data about leading dairy sires.
