Top-Ranking High-Components Sires Enter Active-A.I.
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Nov. 15, 2003 — Three sires have graduated
into the Select Sires lineup, all entering active-A.I. service
near the top of the Production-Type Index lists for their
respective breeds. This follows the quarterly publishing of the
dairy sire evaluations by the U.S. Department of Agriculture,
InterBull and dairy breed associations. Representing the
Ayrshire, Brown Swiss and Guernsey breeds, these individuals are
transmitting a balance of production and type traits that will make them
popular mating sires throughout the world.
"These new high-ranking sires give producers even more flexibility when
designing matings to fit their overall herd-management goals," says Blaine
Crosser, dairy sire analyst, Select Sires. "Credit goes to breeders of
Ayrshire, Brown Swiss and Guernsey cattle for their commitment to help
progeny-test young sires, which yields exciting graduates like SATELLITE,
DYNASTY and BANGER. While already home of North America’s most comprehensive
dairy lineup, Select Sires has maintained its commitment to sample
approximately 45 high-components-breeds sires every year."
