Select-Sired All-Time All-Americans Shine in Holstein World Contest
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 2, 2003 — Daughters of bulls from Select
Sires tallied many winners in the All-Time All-American contest
in the October 2003 issue of Holstein World, including five All-Time
titles, four reserve titles, four high honorable mention titles, and
three honorable mention titles. The results underscore Select Sires’
impact on the breed by providing elite type and production bulls.
The contest set up a challenge between the All-Time All-Americans
from a contest held in 1984 and the cow classes in the yearly All-American
contests held from 1984 to 2002.
A contest highlight was Brookview Tony Charity, Excellent (97), a daughter
of 7H00129 Kanza Matt TONY. She was the only contestant from 1984 to
keep her All-Time All-American aged cow title in 2003 and she also
garnered the reserve 4-year-old award. The reserve aged cow, Rainyridge
Tony Beauty, Excellent (5E-CAN), is sired by 7H00401 MARShfield Elevation
TONY. The 1984 All-Time All-American aged cow, Northcroft Ella Elevation,
Excellent (97), sired by 7H00058 Round Oak Rag Apple ELEVATION*TV, was
honorable mention in this year’s aged cow contest.
In the 4-year-old cow class, Tri-Day Ashlyn-ET, Excellent (96), a daughter
of 9H01833 Marcrest ENCORE*TV, was the winner. She also was named high
honorable mention in the senior 3-year-old class. VanDyk-K Integrity
Paradise, Excellent (96), won high honorable mention 4-year-old and
junior 3-year-old, and also was an honorable mention aged cow. She is a
daughter of 7H04213 Robthom INTEGRITY-ET*TV.
At the top of the senior 3-year-old class was Shadowcliff RA Gina,
Excellent (97), sired by ELEVATION, who also won the reserve honors
in the senior 2-year-old class. Stookey EP Blackrose-ET, Excellent (96),
sired by 7H01897 To-Mar BLACKSTAR-ET*TV, was the clear winner in both
the junior 2- and 3-year-old classes. In the junior 2-year-old class,
Brook-Lodge Miss Pattie, Very Good (89), sired by 9H01878 Ri-Mark
Aerostar WINDSOR-ET*TV, earned the reserve title and Windsor-Manor
Encore Taz, Excellent (94), sired by ENCORE, was high honorable mention.
