BERRETTA Produces World-Record Cow

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 19, 2003 — A daughter of 7JE254 Mason Boomer Sooner BERRETTA recently broke the world record for milk production. BERRETTA daughters hold many records for milk, fat and protein production and many of his daughters have been national show winners. BERRETTA is the only bull to be the No. 1 PTI sire 13 consecutive times - lasting five years - and he has sired more Excellent daughters than any other sire in history.

"BERRETTA changed the industry," says Jeff Ziegler, sire analyst, Select Sires. "He was the perfect fit for early-developing cheese markets and almost every U.S. breeder used him. Because of this positive influence, BERRETTA genes now can be found on six continents."

The Jersey cow that completed this monumental record is Mainstream Berretta Joy, Excellent (90). In 365 days she produced 4-3 365d 44,930M 5.0% 2,267F 3.4% 1,516P. In addition to breaking the world-production record, Joy is also the first Jersey in history to complete back-to-back production records of more than 40,000 pounds of milk. Joy is owned by Melissa Kortus, Lynden, Wash.

BERRETTA semen is no longer available, but Select Sires currently offers three of his sons - 7JE386 Barbs MBSB DECLO, 7JE442 Rock Ella PARAMOUNT-ET and 7JE474 MVF Berretta FREDRICO-ET - as well as seven other sires with BERRETTA in their pedigree.
