Select Sires Graduates Industry's First BW MARSHALL Son
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Feb. 9, 2004 — Semen is now available from five
Holstein bulls that have graduated into active-A.I. service at Select
Sires, including the breed’s first proven son of 7HO5375 Mara-Thon
BW MARSHALL-ET*TV. This follows the February 9 release of official
dairy-sire evaluations by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Interbull
and Holstein Association USA. Sired by five different sires, as well as
five different maternal grandsires, these bulls offer diverse pedigrees
as they join North America’s leading active-A.I. lineup of 91 Holsteins.
"With more than 220 MARSHALL sons sampled in the U.S., it’s exciting
to release 7HO6682 B-Hiddenhills Mar MARMAX-ET*RC,TV," says Blaine Crosser,
vice president, dairy products and services, Select Sires. "MARMAX is a
prime example of the foresight that goes into sampling young sires
through the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™). Recognizing
MARSHALL’s genetic strengths early in his A.I. career, our staff
acquired and sampled the first son as a SUPER SAMPLER™. It could
be more than a year before any other A.I.-proven MARSHALL sons will
be released. It’s bulls like MARMAX that continue to give Select
Sires the genetic edge in the A.I. industry and our customers a
head start with some of America’s best genetics."
