Karen Hanford, Marcellus, N.Y., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic
Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, GOLD is
one of 35 Jersey bulls to enter the program in 2004. In addition to being sampled through PGA
cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a SUPER SAMPLER™. With this
designation, his semen is available to all Jersey breeders.
GOLD is sired by 7JE472 BW PARADE-ET. His dam is Ferreira Mannix Goldengirl-ET, Very
Good (86), who was high seller of the 2000 Field of Dreams Sale, West Union, Iowa, and
produced 1-11 305d 18,570M 4.5% 841F 3.2% 600P. Golden MBSB of Twin Haven-ET,
GOLD’s grandam, produced 4-1 365d 34,876M 6.9% 2,421F 4.1 % 1,424P and is scored
Excellent (94). Golden is the dam of one of Select’s most popular Jersey bulls, 7JE510 GOLDEN
Boy Of Ferreira, and is the reining U.S. champion for fat production. The third dam, Sweet Grass
Lester Golda, is scored Excellent (91) and produced 3-7 305d 17,600M 5.2% 909F 3.7% 646P.
