Ohio State Student Named Intern
at Leading U.S. A.I. Organization



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, June 15, 2003 — Jessica Sharp, Tiffin, Ohio, has been selected as the summer communications intern for Select Sires, Plain City, Ohio. Her responsibilities include developing the 2004 breeding calendar for customers, assisting with media-relations activities and working on other communications projects. From June through September she will be based in the Select federation’s headquarters office in Plain City.

Sharp is a senior at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communication. On campus she is actively involved in the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow where she serves as treasurer. She is also the communications director for the Buckeye Biomass Student Initiative, a group in which she also helped develop and runs as a small corporation.

Sharp is the daughter of Gary and Jeanann Sharp of Tiffin, Ohio, whose farm was once used for many 4-H and FFA projects including dairy heifers, feeder calves, sheep and even ostriches. Now the family, along with her older brother Jason, mainly raises hay, soybeans, and corn. Sharp currently shows Jerseys with her uncle Jerry Lemmermen, Oakhaven Jerseys, Galloway, Ohio, and many cousins.

Based in Plain City, Ohio, Select Sires, Inc. is a federation of 10 farmer-owned and -controlled cooperatives. It provides highly fertile semen as well as excellence in service and programs to achieve its basic objective of supplying livestock breeders with America’s best genetics at a reasonable price.
