Select Sires Releases Its First Proven DURHAM Son
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Aug. 17, 2004 — On August 9 Select Sires introduced its first proven son of 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET*CV into active-A.I. service - 7HO6761 Creek Durham SHANE-ET*CV. This follows the quarterly release of official dairy-sire evaluations by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Interbull and Holstein Association USA.

New Graduates Trace Back to the Dellia Family
Starting his A.I. career as the third-highest type sire at Select Sires at +2.54 Predicted Transmitting Ability for Type (PTAT), SHANE is following his sire's blueprint for fancy udders with a +2.28 Udder Composite (UC) and Standard Transmitting Ability (STA) values in excess of +2.00 on all udder attachments. His daughters are very tall (2.78T), with plenty of strength (1.29S) and body depth (1.75D). At 92% Reliability (227 daughters in 152 herds), this SUPER SAMPLER™ is the most widely sampled DURHAM son in active A.I. With Snow-N Denises Dellia (EX-95-2E-GMD-DOM) on the paternal side of the pedigree and two Excellent dams with over 40,000 pounds of milk on the maternal side, SHANE is destined for greatness.

As his pedigree suggests, MORGAN sires a balance of high components coupled with very pleasing type, generating PTAs of +1,110M +.00%F +41F +.02%P +37P +1.56T +1.59UC +1.57 Feet-and-Legs Composite (FLC) (81% Rel.) and a low Somatic Cell Score (SCS) of +2.82 (71% Rel.). A former SUPER SAMPLER, MORGAN graduates at 89% yield reliability with136 daughters in 93 herds. His progeny are moderately tall with plenty of strength, good mobility and a strong fore-udder attachment.
