Select Sires Dominates Holstein's Top-100 TPI List
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Sept. 7, 2004 — For the second consecutive sire
summary, Select Sires owns proven bulls that rank No. 1 and 2 on the
Holstein Association USA Top-100 list for Type-Production Index (TPI™).
For more than a year, 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET*TV has been first
in the breed. Now at +1942 TPI (94% Rel.), he outdistances 7HO5375
Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET*TV (+1807 TPI, 99% Rel.), by 135 points. O MAN
and MARSHALL are two of 27 bulls from Select Sires that are on the
Top-100 TPI list-the most in the industry.

Six of the top 11 on the Top-100 TPI list are from Select Sires and all
six are graduates of the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™).
The highest-ranking, O MAN, is a calving-ease SUPERIOR SETTLER™ and
sires the breed's best dollar value indexes at +897 Net Merit Dollars
(NM$), +945 Cheese Merit Dollars (CM$), and +809 Fluid Merit Dollars
(FM$).
Used heavily as a sire of sons, BW MARSHALL, the No. 2 TPI sire (+1807
TPI, 99% Rel.), and his first proven son, 7HO6682 B-Hiddenhills Mar
MARMAX-ET*RC, TV, the eleventh place TPI sire (+1696 TPI, 94% Rel.),
make up the most elite father son genetic team in active-A.I.
The industry's top new graduate, 9HO2831 Kings-Ransom M DUCE-ET*TV,
debuts as the seventh best bull in the breed. He is the highest-ranking
Carol Prelude MTOTO-ET son in active-A.I. for TPI (+1745 86% Rel.), NM$
(+645 ) and Feet-and-Leg Composite (+1.86 FLC) (83% Rel.).
Next on the list at +1733 TPI (99% Rel.), 7HO5484 Ricecrest BOONE-ET*TV,
is a 6 percent calving ease sire that climbs to No. 8 on the list. He
has over 2,200 daughters and is one of the top-10 bulls in the breed for
these traits +680NM$, +697CM$ and +646FM$.
Tenth in the breed is 7HO6546 Din-A-Ste REMINGTON*TV (+1712 TPI 80%
Rel.). He is a 7HO4637 Ladys-Manor WINCHESTER-ET son with solid
Predicted Transmitting Ability (PTA) values of +2,115M +.03% +84F +.01%
