PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Sept. 14, 2004 — For another sire summary, Select Sires has graduated bulls that are leaders on the Holstein Association USA Top-100 list for Type-Production Index (TPI™). Five new Select Sires' graduates appear on the Top-100 TPI list and all were sampled through the Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™). These new graduates increase the number of Select bulls on the Top-100 TPI to 27 - the most in the industry.

Five New PGA Graduates in Top 100
The industry's top new graduate, 9HO2831 Kings-Ransom M DUCE-ET*TV, debuts as the seventh best bull in the breed. He is the highest-ranking Carol Prelude MTOTO-ET son in active-A.I. for TPI (+1745 86% Rel.), NM$ (+645) and Feet-and-Leg Composite (+1.86 FLC) (83% Rel.). This SUPERIOR SETTLER™ is also among the stud's high-component sires at +.09%F +72F +.03%P +48P with balanced and profitable PTA Milk (+1,396).
7HO6745 Sandy-Valley ONYX-ET*TV is an Excellent (92) MTOTO son and follows DUCE as the second-highest August 2004 release. Twenty fifth in the breed with a +1646 TPI (87% Rel.), ONYX sires extreme components coupled with profitable returns: +.20%F +69F +.09%P +38P +560NM$ +599CM$ +488FM$. This
high-type sire (+2.16PTAT, 79% Rel.) has a calving-ease score of 7 percent difficult births, and is a SUPERIOR SETTLER and Herdlife Builder™.
Ranking in the Top-30 with a +1643 TPI (84% Rel.), 7HO6645 AltaGEN-I 2866-ET*CV is WINCHESTER's best son in A.I. for protein (+74P) and second for udder composite (+2.22UC,82% Rel.). Touting +2,307 PTA for Milk, GEN-I and his sire are two of 11 in the stud that are more than a ton of milk.
A top-50 TPI sire at +1617 TPI (87% Rel.), 7HO6739 Paradise-R CVN SEAN-ET*CV is the first Wa-Del CONVINCER-ET son at Select Sires and the highest TPI son of six CONVINCER sons in the industry. He balances a yield of +1,859M +81F +51P with a +1.62T and +1.86 UC (81% Rel.). A SUPERIOR SETTLER, SEAN is
one of the best for udder cleft and front teat placement.
7HO6624 Creek Amel DARNEL-ET*TV rounds out the Top-100 group with +1574 TPI (81% Rel.). Of the 18 sons of 7HO4985 Out-Jock Choice AMEL-ET in service today, DARNEL is No. 2 for PTA Type with +1.93T (79% Rel.). He is a high milk (+1,795 PTAM) sire with a low 2.94 SCS (62% Rel.) and writes a great linear with STA values as high as 3.00H on rear udder height.
