Breed's Most-Reliable Holsteins for Production are at Select Sires

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 26, 2004 — Only two proven sires in the Holstein breed have Predicted Transmitting Ability (PTA) values for milk production that are higher than +2,600M with reliabilities that exceed 90% reliability and both sires are owned by Select Sires. 7HO6682 B-Hiddenhills Mar MARMAX-ET*RC, TV (+2,665M, 94% Rel.) and 7HO5708 Fustead Emory BLITZ-ET*TV (+2,654M, 96% Rel.) appear among the top-five production sires on the August 2004 Active-A.I. list.

Debuting in August at +2,307M (84% Rel.), 7HO6645 AltaGEN-I 2866-ET*CV is Select's highest PTAM son of 7HO4637 Ladys-Manor WINCHESTER-ET, a current lineup sire (+2,042M, 99% Rel.). Great for protein yield (+.02% +74P), GEN-I fits many markets with +493NM$ and a +502CM$. He is a rather-unique high-production sire that transmits great udder attachments and a deep cleft (+2.22UC, 82% Rel.).

Among the top 15 in the breed at +2,437M (86% Rel.), 9HO2805 Sandy-Valley BONIFAY-ET*TV is a May graduate that has profit-potential across all milk markets with +501NM$, +501CM$ and +500FM$ values.

9HO2538 Regancrest GEARR-ET*TV appears among the top 20 for both PTA Milk (+2,108M, 89% Rel.) and NM$ (+476) on Select's mating guide. He also is one of Select Sires' 20 best sires for stature, dairy form, rump width, rear udder height and rear udder width.

A high-milk option for use on heifers (6% CE), 7HO6042 Crest-View-Acres BW SIR*TV is a SUPERIOR SETTLER™ with a PTAM of +2,199 (90% Rel.), ranking him among the breed's top 40 sires.

Second-Crop Daughters Elevate Sires to New Levels
The production proof of 7HO5581 Eastview Emory EQUITY-ET*TV moved up to +2,226M (98% Rel.) with the addition of 319 second-crop offspring. This 7HO3948 MJR Blackstar EMORY-ET son is another reliable type improver (+1.95T, 92% Rel.). He's a heavily used calving-ease specialist at only seven percent expected difficult first births.

Now with 2,217 daughters in his +2,152 PTAM proof, 7HO5484 Ricecrest BOONE-ET*TV is the industry's No. 1 bull for NM$ (+680) among those bulls that are at 99% Rel.

7HO5442 Muranda Mandel MOE-ET*TV (+2,110M, 98% Rel.) is generating profits in all milk markets...+546NM$ +537CM$ +564FM$. Many of his second-crop daughters are being considered as bull mothers for the next generation of Select sires.
