PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Nov. 30, 2004 — A total of 22 bulls in Select Sires' November 2004 active-A.I. lineup have Predicted Transmitting Abilities (PTA) for Type at or higher than +2.00, including the highest ranking sire/son pair of 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET*CV (+3.10T 99% Rel.) and 7HO6758 Regancrest-MR Drham SAM-ET*TV (+2.98T 86% Rel.). Eight Select sires exceed +1.50 for all four Holstein type composite scores with six exceeding +2.00 for both Udder Composite (UD) and Feet-and-Legs Composite (FL)...the most in the industry.

22 Select Sires Surpass +2.00 PTA Type

The top three type improvers at Select Sires are also three of the breed's best six for PTAT. 7HO5841 Sikkema-Star-W HI METRO-ET*CV (+3.23T, 92% Rel.) and DURHAM (+3.10T, 99% Rel.) are two of only five Holstein sires that surpass +3.00T. Both also are over +2.00 for all type composite values with HI METRO at +3.59UD, +2.13FL, +2.43 Body Composite (BD), and +2.42 Dairy Composite (D) and DURHAM at +3.16UD +2.49FL +2.38BD +2.07D.

The DURHAM son, MR SAM, is Select's third-highest type improver at +2.98T and the third of six over +2.00 for both UD (+2.37) and FL (+2.39) scores. His dam is a 7HO3948 MJR Blackstar EMORY-ET daughter and completes six generations of Excellent dams. This SUPER SAMPLER™ graduated in November with positive PTA yield values of +1,229M +.04%F +55F+.01%P +38P at 90% Reliability.

7HO8425 MICHeal Storm Avalanche*TR,TV, 7HO6155 Mohrfield Form TRADEMARK-ET*TV and new release 7HO7680 Nor-Som STEAMROLLER-ET*TV combine beautiful udders with correct feet and legs. MICH is a Top-30 type sire with +2.40T +2.54UD +2.08FL (84% Rel.) and TRADEMARK (+2.11T +2.58UD +2.00FL 82% Rel.) is known for breed-leading rear udders. STEAMROLLER merges his elite type (+2.07UD +2.19FL 72% Rel.) with high components and production (+1,286M +.06%F +61F +.01%P +41P 78% Rel.).

The second elite Maughlin STORM-ET son with a type proof of +2.40T (93% Rel.) is 7HO6753 CANYON-Breeze Storm Atom-ET*B/R,TV, who ties MICH as the sixth-highest for type at Select Sires. For the third consecutive summary, this May 2004 SUPER SAMPLER graduate has added daughters and each time has climbed in production (+1,556M 96% Rel.) while maintaining balance in all type composites (+1.82UD +1.95FL +1.53BD +2.42D).

Also moving up each quarter, 7HO5708 Fustead Emory BLITZ-ET*TV is at an all-time high for both production (+2,918M 98% Rel.) and type (+2.64T 94% Rel.) with high-composite scores of +2.24UD +1.96FL +2.70BD +2.65D. An Excellent (94) EMORY son, BLITZ is creating his own legacy with high-scoring second-crop daughters in the United States and Canada.
