Young Sires From Iowa to Enter A.I.

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 13, 2004 — 7HO8322 Terrick Machomn ROTATION-ET*TV, bred by Terry Eick, Plainfield, Iowa, 7HO8237 Morningview MAGIC-ET*TV, bred by Tom Schmitt, Durango, Iowa, and 7HO8310 Regancrest-UR REESE-ET*TV, bred by Regancrest Farm and Uwe Riebensahm, Waukon, Iowa, have been chosen to enter Select Sires' Program for Genetic Advancement™, (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on their outstanding pedigrees, ROTATION, MAGIC and REESE are three of 300 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2004. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, these young sires have been identified as SUPER SAMPLERs™. With this designation, their semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

ROTATION is sired by Windsor-Manor MACHOMAN-ET. His Very Good (89) dam, Terrick Emory Ribbon, is a Gold Medal Dam as well as a Dam of Merit. Ribbon's best record stands at 5-2 365d 49, 300M 3.2% 1,578F 2.9% 1,441P. This record placed her first in Iowa for both milk and protein production that lactation. Ribbon has competed two lactations producing over 45,000 pounds of milk, 1,500 pounds of fat, and 1,300 pounds of protein. Terrick Ares Randi is ROTATION's grandam. She is scored Excellent (90-GMD-DOM) and is Excellent in her mammary system. She produced 6-6 365d 48,890M 3.7% 1,807F 2.9% 1,396P. She was second in Iowa for milk and protein production that lactation.

MAGIC is a son of Stouder MORTY-ET. His dam, Crockett-Acres Drhm Mae-ET is scored Very Good (87) and produced 2-4 3X 365d 29,760M 4.3% 1,294F 3.3% 970P. MAGIC's grandam is Wauregan Maebell-ET, Excellent (91-2E-EX-MS). Maebell is a Gold Medal Dam and Dam of Merit. She produced 4-8 3X 365d 35,490M 4.2% 1,485F 3.3% 1,173P.

REESE is sired by Stouder MORTY-ET. His dam, Regan-Joy Durham Regenia-ET is scored Excellent (92) and is Excellent in all five linear categories.
